Small businesses are more than just storefronts or startups—they are the backbone of the American economy, responsible for nearly half of the nation’s private workforce and a driving force behind innovation, job creation, and community development. Each spring, the country comes together to recognize and celebrate these contributions during National Small Business Week.
The 2025 celebration, taking place May 4–10, embraces the theme “Empowering Business Owners for the Future.” Throughout the week, entrepreneurs will have opportunities to learn, connect, and be inspired through a dynamic mix of national recognition, expert-led sessions, and practical resources. From building business credit to navigating government contracts and exploring financing options, the programming is designed to meet business owners where they are—whether they’re just starting out or preparing for their next stage of growth. Alongside virtual summits and webinars, participants can access downloadable guides, hear directly from successful entrepreneurs, and connect with local SBA offices, lenders, and mentors ready to support their journey.
One of the highlights of the week is the NSBW Virtual Summit, taking place May 6–7. This free online event offers valuable insights from business leaders and industry experts across the country. Business owners can register and attend from anywhere:

This year, AmPac Business Capital also marks a major milestone: 20 years of supporting entrepreneurs through mission-driven lending. Since 2005, AmPac has facilitated over $2.4 billion in financing and helped create more than 15,000 jobs, a testament to the power of access to capital in transforming businesses and communities. With nearly 2,300 small businesses served, AmPac continues to champion the dreams of entrepreneurs who are building legacies that matter.
As we look ahead, National Small Business Week serves as a timely reminder of why this work matters. More than just a calendar of events, it’s a nationwide tribute to the passion, perseverance, and community impact of entrepreneurs. In celebrating this week, we celebrate not just businesses, but the stories, dreams, and people behind them. And in that spirit, we’re not just recognizing National Small Business Week—we’re celebrating your story.
